This easy guacamole recipe is better than any store bought guacamole. Buying guacamole from the store is never the same as making fresh guacamole at home! When you are at the store choosing your avocados make sure they are soft if you intend on making the guacamole soon. If your avocados are not ripe yet, try this hack.
How to ripen avocados quickly:
Put your unripe avocados in a closed paper bag along with a ripe banana. The avocados should be ripe within 2 – 4 days. The ethylene air will speed up the ethylene production and will make the avocados ripen quicker. If you store avocados in a refrigerator it slows the avocado ripening, so make sure to store them in a warm environment. Don’t be fooled by the myth of heating an avocado in the oven or microwave to speed up the process. The avocados will be softer but they will not ripen. They also will not have the perfect buttery texture if you heat them.
