Tips for purchasing bananas for banana bread:
When you purchase your bananas, think about when you plan on making this recipe. Ripe bananas are the best for this recipe. If you use bananas that are not ripe the banana bread will not be as sweet.
Can you use frozen bananas in banana bread?
Frozen ripe bananas work great as well. So if you have ripe bananas that you are not going to eat, toss them in the freezer until you are ready to make the banana bread. If you use frozen bananas there is just one extra step. Take the bananas out of the freezer and peel off the skin of the banana. Toss the bananas in a microwave safe bowl and heat them up for 1 minute increments until they get soft. Then you can continue with the rest of the banana bread recipe.
