Cinnamon Sugar bagels are very easy to make. They also have a high amount of protein! Who doesn’t want that? Once you taste these bagels you will quit going to your local bagel shops!Ā These bagels are extremely cheap to make! You will most likely have most of the ingredients in your kitchen cabinets.
I used to love buying cinnamon sugar bagels at my local bakery, but often-times the bagels were not hot or fresh unless I went early in the morning. This made me want to make my own bagels at home. That way I could always eat them fresh out of the oven! And there is also the satisfaction that I know exactly what’s in my bagels. This recipe uses yogurt, so I know I’m getting some protein in each bagel.Ā
How to make Cinnamon Sugar Bagels.
Step One: Add flour, yogurt, salt, and baking soda to a large mixing bowl.
Step Two: Mix ingredients until they come together.
Step Three: Start kneading dough in the bowl until it comes to a ball.
Step Four: Sprinkle flour on the ball.
Step Five: Sprinkle flour onto a clean flat surface, such as a countertop.
Step Six: Place dough on a flat surface and continue to knead the dough. If it gets too sticky add more flour.
Step Seven: Roll the dough in a ball.
Step Eight: Cut the dough into 4 pieces.
Step Nine: Roll each of the pieces of dough into a thick rope.
Step Ten: For each rope, pinch together the ends to make a circle.
Step Eleven: Crack one egg in a small bowl.
Step Twelve: Add 2 tablespoons of water and whisk together.
Step Thirteen: Take a baking brush and brush egg wash over bagels. The egg wash will give the bagels a beautiful golden color.
Step Fourteen: Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over bagels.
Step Fifteen: Place bagels on a baking sheet. (Make sure you spray your baking pan with cooking spray or use parchment paper. I prefer to use parchment paper.)
Step Sixteen: Bake bagels in the oven for 25 minutes at 375 degrees.
