The everything bagel recipe is my absolute favorite! I love making these bagels in the morning for breakfast. Making homemade bagels is fun and easy! I get excited when I have an opportunity to make these delicious bagels. When I make bagels at home it always tastes better than any store or bakery. These bagels smell amazing when they come out fresh from the oven.
These bagels are packed with protein and you only need a few ingredients to make them. So give this recipe a whirl and your taste buds will thank you! Say goodbye to your local bagel shops, you’ve got a new recipe to try!
Everything Bagel Recipe
Step one: Add 1 1/2 cups of flour in a mixing bowl.
Step two: Add 1 1/2 cups of plain greek yogurt to the bowl.
Step three: Add one tablespoon of baking powder to the bowl.
Step Four: Add 3/4 teaspoon of salt. (If you don’t have a 3/4 teaspoon, add three 1/4 teaspoons.)
Step Five: Start mixing the dough together and knead the dough with your hands. If the dough gets too sticky, sprinkle a little flour on your hands. Continue to knead the dough until it comes together in a ball.
Step Six: Sprinkle flour on a clean flat surface, such as a countertop.
Step Seven: Take the dough ball out of the bowl and continue to kneed it on the flat surface.
Step Eight: Roll dough in a ball.
Step Nine: Use a knife and cut the dough into four even pieces.
Step Ten: Take one piece of dough and roll it on the flat surface. Roll the dough into a thick rope. Then pinch together the ends to make a circle. Repeat this step for each of the four pieces of dough.
Step Eleven: Make your egg wash for the bagels. Crack one egg into a small bowl and add 2 teaspoons of water. Whisk together mixture with a fork or a mini whisk.
Step Twelve: Dip a baking brush into the egg wash and brush the bagels with the mixture. The egg wash will give the bagels a beautiful golden brown color.Then sprinkle everything seasoning on top. (You can get everything seasoning in most grocery stores.)
Step Thirteen: Transfer the bagels onto a baking sheet or a sprayed pan. I prefer to use baking sheets.
Step Fourteen: Bake the bagels in the oven on 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
Add your favorite cream cheese and enjoy!
