Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 1 1/ 2 Cups Plain Greek Yogert
  • 1 Tbsp Baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp water
  • Poppy Seeds
  • 1 Egg

Method

  1. Add 1 1/2 cups of flour in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add 1 1/2 cups of plain greek yogurt to the bowl.
  3. Add one tablespoon of baking powder to the bowl.
  4. Add 3/4 teaspoon of salt. (If you don't have a 3/4 teaspoon, add three 1/4 teaspoons.)
  5. Start mixing the dough together and knead the dough with your hands. If the dough gets too sticky, sprinkle a little flour on your hands. Continue to knead the dough until it comes together in a ball.
  6. Sprinkle flour on a clean flat surface, such as a countertop.
  7. Take the dough ball out of the bowl and continue to knead it on the flat surface.
  8. Take dough and roll it in a ball.
  9. Take a knife and cut the dough into four even pieces.
  10. Take one piece of dough and roll it on the flat surface. Roll the dough into a thick rope. Once the dough is in a rope, pinch together the ends to make a circle. Repeat this step for each of the four pieces of dough.
  11. Make your egg wash for the bagels. Crack one egg into a small bowl and add 2 teaspoons of water. Whisk together mixture with a fork or a mini whisk.
  12. Dip a baking brush into the egg wash and brush the bagels with the mixture. The egg wash will give the bagels a beautiful golden brown color.

  13. Sprinkle poppy seeds on the bagels.
  14. Transfer the bagels onto a baking sheet or a sprayed pan. I prefer to use baking sheets.
  15. Bake the bagels in the oven at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
